Getting Started
MySkillSource is a dynamic learning environment that offers you hundreds of courses on a wide variety of subjects and multiple ways to learn.
Do You Have an Enrollment Key:
If you're a student who has been issued an enrollment key, click on the enrollment key icon on the sign-on page. You will be prompted to create your own unique user name and password. If you already have a user name and password you can sign-in on the sign-on page.
Ways to Learn Online:
MySkillSource recognizes that people learn in different ways. For this reason, we provide multiple ways for you to receive information. Regardless of the course delivery method you choose, the same dynamic content is provided. Remember that all delivery methods are available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Choose from any of the following ways to learn:
Instructor-Led Courses:
Instructor-led classes are very much like a college class. They have an instructor, a textbook with reading assignments, field trips, and interaction with fellow students. One great feature is that you can do the work at the times most convenient to you. You do your assignments and communicate with the class and your instructor on your own schedule.
Self-Study Courses:
Self-paced training courses are taken individually and allow you to progress though the course at your own pace. The courses provide interactive training with optional audio. Many of the Self-Study courses allow you to take an assessment before starting the course. This assesses the information you are already familiar with, and based on this assessment, recommends which topics within a course you should take.
Digitized Books:
The Resource Center provides you with hundreds of full-length reference books, the same books that you look for in your favorite bookstore! You have the ability to add your favorite books to your bookshelf and print out chapters that correspond with your current interests. MySkillSource has also scanned the Internet for articles that would enhance your learning experience and provides links to these articles.
How to Register for a Course:
With MySkillSource, it's easy for you to find the courses that you need. There are three different ways to search and register for courses:

Course Catalog
Learning Advisor
Search:
Once in the MySkillSource training site, the search function appears on the left-hand navigation bar. All you need to do to locate a course using the search function is either type the title or any topic within a course and the search will present all relevant courses. Then simply select the course that's best for you.
Course Catalog:
The Course Catalog is located on the top navigation bar in the training site. This section groups courses together into related subjects, so you can view all of the courses offered in a particular area of interest. This section is helpful when you know you are interested in a specific subject, but are unsure of what courses are available.
Learning Advisor:
The Learning Advisor is much like a personal guidance counselor. If you want to obtain a particular skill or train for a certification track or exam, the Learning Advisor helps you decide what courses to take, and in what order, enabling you to achieve your goals. All you need to do is click on the subject you are interested in and the Learning Advisor will suggest a learning path for you to follow.
